What to include when asking for a moving quote in Jamaica

A moving quote depends on more than the distance between two addresses. A practical inventory and a clear explanation of access help providers plan the vehicle, people and time needed.

Make a simple inventory

List the larger pieces of furniture and appliances, the approximate number of boxes and anything unusually heavy or fragile. Tell the business what needs to be dismantled or reassembled. Photos can help the conversation, but a written list is useful for confirming exactly what is included.

Describe both ends of the move

Give the pickup and destination areas, floor levels, stairs or lift access, and parking arrangements. Mention narrow entrances, building booking windows or other restrictions. Ask whether the provider serves both locations and what happens if the timing changes.

Ask who does what

Clarify whether the quote includes loading, unloading, packing, protective materials and assembly. If you will pack yourself, ask how items should be prepared. Confirm responsibility for protecting the property and how the business handles damage concerns or items it cannot transport.
